Long Weekend in Los Angeles

At the end of April, my husband and I took a trip to Los Angeles. He had never been before, and although I’ve been a few times, they were always very quick stays, so this was the first time we were both really exploring the area.

My love for California runs deep and started back in high school with my O.C. obsession that is still alive and well. I don't watch a ton of television, but if I had to pick a favorite niche genre, it would be CA-based dramas—Beverly Hills 90210, The Hills, Californication, etc. I love them all, and while NYC will forever be my home base, I've always had this feeling about the West Coast. I went to California for the first time in early 2015, and as predicted, instantly fell in love with it. While I'll be staying on the East Coast for the foreseeable future, my dream is to eventually live out there for at least a few years and have that West Coast experience.

Since we were only in Los Angeles for less than a week, we tried to explore as much as possible during the time we were there. Below is a chronological itinerary of some of our favorite spots from our trip (including a few tourist traps); essentially a loop that starts and ends on the Westside near LAX. Unfortunately, the last couple of days were pretty cloudy due to May Gray being on the horizon, but it was still a great trip. The next time we're out there, I would love to check out Silver Lake and Echo Park, hike around the Hollywood sign, and visit the Eames House in the Pacific Palisades.
